Bi-Weekly Programming, Events & Activities for Youth & Teens
School is BACK!!! The joys and adventures of keeping youth engaged in positive programming outside the walls of school is underway. There have been so many reports in the Little Rock area about teenagers not having much to do on the weekends, getting kicked out of parks and the downtown area, and simply not being involved in productive and engaging activities outside of school functions. Arts, Absolutely! wants to close that gap, and serve as a community accountability partner in providing opportunities for youth to be engaged in "Safe Spaces & Supportive Places" during the weekend.
As a kick off to "Safe Spaces" we hosted a Nerd Night Teen Party, encouraging students (Ages 13 - 18) to dress up in their best "studious" and nerd outfits and learn about our team and programming - sponsored by our Arts Over Tobacco Program funded by the UAPB Minority Initiative Sub-Recipient Grant Office (MISRGO). The next Safe Space event for teens is a bit more serious. LET’S TALK ABOUT SEX: A Teen Health, Relationships & Positive Decision-Making Experience!
Let’s Talk About Sex is an interactive youth education and prevention experience designed to create a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment where teens can have honest conversations about sexual health, relationships, peer pressure, substance use, social influences, and the decisions that can impact their futures. Ultimately, Let’s Talk About Sex is about much more than sex. It is about helping young people develop the confidence and skills to think critically, establish healthy boundaries, resist unhealthy pressure, protect their health, and make decisions that support the lives they want to build.
